As you know I live in the Beauty Section of Urban Outfitters now that its so close to the
office. I recently got a huge haul of sheet masks and just different little things. When I made my purchase the nice cashier gave me about 10 samples of this Skinfood Rice Mask. I feel in love with this brand a while back when I tried their snail sheet masks. The product description for this is that its a wash-off mask that transforms skin into a pure and soft texture. This contains rice bran water so I think this is what makes it work. The directions are to use after cleansing and gently massage with ample amount over dry face avoiding eyes and mouth area. It tells you to concentrate around nose area and repeat so that the little grains are scrubbing into your skin. It tells you to rinse with lukewarm water after 10-15 minutes of scrubbing. The consistency of this product is really nice. It is somewhat light, watery but not runny. It stays on the skin really well and doesn't drip off if you keep it on which I love. It also feel cooling when you apply it on your skin. Not sure if it has something like menthol. It contains tiny particles which scrubs your skin and exfoliates. I have very oily skin as you know but I think this product is really good for people with dry skin as well. It leaves my skin really moisturizing and the scrub isn't so much but just enough to remove the dead skin cells.
This mask is all good. I love it and would definitely recommend it. It does however, have a smell to it. It kind of smells like rice. I don't mind the smell but I've always seen different reviews and know that a lot of people hate things that smell. But all in all I love this mask and I've been using it ever since I got the samples for about once a week. My skin is always left soft and fresh and its a nice clean feeling. This mask retails for $18 and depending on how much you use it, it can last you at least 2 months. Its not that bad giving that this leaves your skin feeling amazing. You can buy this mask at +Urban Outfitters online or in-store. You can also get it Amazon or The Face Shop.
I will review anything and everything beauty related!! Hope you enjoy!

Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet Review
Hope this doesn't disappoint you to read about more skincare products but I just love them. I would love to be able to not wear makeup because I don't need anything to help cover up anything meaning no wrinkles, no dark circles or anything like that but until that day I am always going to be on the hunt for the fountain of youth. Moving on to the products of today's blog post-- If you read my post from yesterday you already know that I recently went to Urban Outfitters with my good friend +Carrie L. and I went on a bit of a shopping spree. I was really happy to be able to go since I don't get to Union Square a lot. I got the Nippon Kodo Deitanseki Facial Soap Bar and was totally in love with it. If you haven't read my blog on that you should definitely look for it. Its worth every single penny. While at Urban Outfitters, I also picked up a couple of other things. One of the things that I finally was able to get my hands one was Skinfood's Hydro Fitting Snail Sheet masks. I've been reading reviews about these sheet masks for a while now and was unable to find it in the city. Now that Korean beauty products are all the rave, they started bring different products to life such as sheet masks with different types of anti-aging properties such as snail extract, green tea extract, and ginger root. I've been wanting to try all of these different things because culturally Koreans are all about skincare and so I figured if any products are worth buying it would be these! I was really happy to be able to pick it up.
I was very excited to use this product. This particular one is a hydrating mask and it also has the anti-aging properties that come from the snail extract. This sheet mask fit on my face perfectly. There was a lot of serum on the mask enough to be able to rub into my next and under my eyes. It left my skin really hydrated just after one use. Snail extract that it has is really good for anti aging properties. Not sure if you have read in the beauty blogs lately but snail extract is the next best thing for anti-aging. When I used this mask last night and I left the sheet mask on for about 30 minutes and once it I removed it I smoothed over the serum into my face and didn't wash it. I went to bed and this morning my skin was just radiant. It felt hydrated and plump. I would definitely recommend this mask since its probably one of the best sheet masks that I've tried in a long time. This retails for $15 which is $3 a mask since there are 5 masks in each packet. I know that its more expensive compared to other sheet masks that I've talked about but I honestly believe that this one give you really good results. You can buy these from Urban Outfitters online or in store. You can also purchase this on Amazon.
Do you have any foreign products that you've seen lately that you were dying to try? Let me know I would love to give them a shot.

Sheet Masks-- Eye Edition
The other day I spoke about my weekend with my biffie +Valerie Suarez and how we stopped in TJ Maxx and I went overboard and bought almost every mask possible. I went in and bought everything and since I had so many, I wasn't able to blog about them in one blog so this is the second portion. In this post I wanted to dedicate it to all the eye masks that I bought.
The first one is I got was Earth Therapeutics Hydrogel Under-Eye Recovery Patch. This is for when you have tired and puffy looking eyes you can just put these on and they will help your eyes depuff and not look tired anymore. This has a couple of active ingredients like green tea and this contains organic anti-oxidants that help protect the skin from aging. This also has anti-oxidant vitamin complex and this is vitamins a, c, and e and this smooths, protects, and conditions. Other ingredients are aloe vera, cucumber and chamomile. All of these are soothing, hydrates, help with puffiness and swelling and then the chamomile relieves and naturally comforts. These are different because these aren't wet with liquid as most other ones that I've tried are like. They are completely dry and have all the goodness in a gel form. I put these on my eyes and after a half hour, I can see a difference. I usually leave these on while I do my eye makeup just to catch any fall out while depuffing my eyes.
The next one I have is the Spa Life Wake Up Under Eye Revitalizer. These are different than the ones prior because these are soaking wet. They come all in a ziplock baggie and you can see the liquid that is saturating them. I keep these in the refrigerator by the way. These particular ones have espresso and vitamin E which hydrates and perks up the eyes. The caffeine from the espresso will perk up your eyes and help your eyes not look tired. I usually put these on in the morning before I am ready to get out of bed. I leave them on for about 30 minutes. They smell just like coffee, thats the only thing that I would want to point out. They do work because my eyes look more rested than usual when I used these.
The next eye mask I bought was Spa Life Radiant Under Eye Treatment. This one was a definite "judge a book by its cover" type of buy. I saw that these had diamonds in it. I immediately said-- yup I need diamonds for my eyes. These are said to rejuvenate and brighten under eye skin. These little beauties have collagen in it so your eyes will look younger, firmer and more radiant. The diamonds will brighten the skin so after 20 minutes your eyes will look well rested and also brighter. I use these usually at night and I do not put these in the refrigerator. I lay in bed while listening to the TV or watching it since with these you can keep your eyes open, like all the other ones too. I do not use these all the time, I use these as more of a treat once every 2 weeks while rotating the other ones in more frequent.
The last eye masks that I got were the Cucumber Hydro-Soothing Cooling Eye pads. These look like little cucumber slices. They are saturated with real cucumber extract. This is good for your eyes in that cucumbers are known for soothing the skin. This will relieve the puffiness and will also help soothe and hydrate your under eyes. These are ones that need to be put on your whole eye so I personally like to put these on when I am taking a bath and I am able to close my eyes for a bit. These smell amazing and I put them in the refrigerator so that they are even cooler than normal and it give you a great "ahhh" moment. I like doing this after a long day at work.
Well these are all the ones I bought that weekend that I went out with my bestie. I know I completely went overboard but I love these things and honestly for the prices that they have them in TJ Maxx, why not.

Sheet Masks-- Face Edition
This past weekend I went into the city to meet up with my bestie +Valerie Suarez and we first went to Sephora which was so much fun. We went through the whole store, tried on different things, looked through different products. Valerie got her skin matched by that Skin IQ thing that +Sephora has so that it will pick up all the Foundations that Sephora has in store for you to buy. I think its great if you are one of those people that are really scared of getting something too light or too dark. If you aren't always sure of what color you should be using, I would say this is definitely something for you. This is a free service too. I believe that not all Sephora's have this but I would just call your local Sephora and ask to see if they have the SkinIQ machine that tells you your skintone.
After that fun time in Sephora we went to get our eyebrows threaded which is always fun. It isn't as painful as you think. I recommend it if you need something quick and flawless. This doesn't leave you red so if you get irritated with wax, this is a great alternative. We then went on to TJ Maxx. I was all for it because the TJ Maxx on 16th street in Manhattan is great for beauty products. I immediately went to that section. I wanted everything. I picked up about 6 different masks. From sheet masks, to mud masks, to under eye masks. I wanted it all. Valerie told me I needed to get myself under control so I picked everything up and then sorted through the ones I didn't want. They were so cheap. The masks were about $4 & $5 which is a steal.

I am going to have a Facial edition and an Eye edition since I bought too many and it would made this blog super long. Today we are going to talk about the face masks. I'm picking them at random so the first one I chose was Forever Luminous Hydrating Facial Wrap Volcanic Ash + CoQ10. This mask is suppose to help moisturize and renew your skin. The CoQ10 is an anti-oxident and that is the anti-aging component. So you can use this mask both cold and hot. For the cool one, I personally put it in the refrigerator just so that it can get cooler and that will help with any puffiness that I could get. If you want a warm treatment you can throw the individual foil package and dunk it in warm water so that the mask can heat up. Do not put the package in the microwave!! So after you choose what method you want to use, all you do is take the mask out of the package and then put the mask on your face. You wear it for 20 mins and then you can peel it off. I used it and I have to say that I love how soft my face came out after. I put it on for about 30-40 mins because I was taking a nap and fell asleep for a bit longer than I hoped for.
The next mask I got is FY Face Wraps Cucumber & Aloe. This is another 20 minute mask. Its suppose to be soothing and refreshing hence the cucumber and aloe. The cucumber has high levels of hydrogen so this is where the soothing components. The powerful cleansers help sooth the skin and will give you a healthy glow. The aloe vera in the mask will hydrate your skin. If your skin is irritated for whatever reason, aloe vera is really good to put on your skin. Again as the prior mask, you can use this cold or warm with the same instructions as above. I used this one cold and I since I had gotten threading over the weekend, my skin was a bit irritated so this one worked like a charm.
The last mask I am going to talk about is the Beauty Concepts Clear as Mud Purifying Mud Masks. This mask is suppose to detoxify the skin and minimize your pores, refine texture, balance oils and smooth and refresh your skin. The mud masks come in their own pods and honestly can be used for 2 applications. The first time I used it, I made the mistake with taking it all out and putting it on my skin until I realized I had enough to put on my face, neck and chest. The next time I use it, I will preserve it for 2 uses. But yes all you have to do is spread it on your skin and wait for about 15 minutes. I always wait longer than intended but when I removed it, my skin did look detoxed. I don't know how to explain it but my skin was definitely brighter and prettier after this mask.
So that is the final review on the face masks that I got and I was happy that I purchased. They all were about $5-6 and they really work. I will follow up with the second portion of these masks and talk more about the eyes.

Aspirin Mask
I know you are all probably reading this thinking, what is this girl thinking with aspirin as a mask. I have to day I read a quick article that were talking about home remedy beauty products and I figured I'd give one a try. I've read in the past that if you crush up some aspirin and put it on a pimple it will clear it up right away. I honestly don't ever believe that hype because I've used almost every spot treatment out there and nothing worked. I've used the Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment,Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment etc and nothing has worked. Now I do not get acne per say but I can say that every so often I do break out. It's more of a hormonal thing, during that time of the month. So I saw I was getting that one usual pimple a month and since I has read about this I went ahead and googled aspirin masks and I figured I'd try one. I saw one that was easy and all it is is Aspirin, distilled water and honey if you want to make sure you don't over dry your skin. Honey is really good for your skin either way, I usually just put some honey in my face before I take a shower so that it hydrates it and smooths it.
I did my mixture, I used store brand aspirin about 8 pills and dissolved it into a little bit of water. You want to make sure that the texture is more paste like that watery. Once that's all dissolved, I add a bit of honey which I use a little not more that needed to make sure that the mixture is easier to spread onto my face. Once it's all mixed up, I take a foundation brush that I use only for mask application and I slather it on. I start at the area where my pimple is and then I just went ahead and did the whole face and neck area avoiding my eyes and mouth, duh! I left it on for about 10 minutes and rinsed it off with a wet wash cloth. I did see my skin was exfoliated but not to the point where it was overly dry. I noticed immediately that the pimple went down. I honestly didn't even where it was and to actually see where it was, I needed to feel for it with my finger. It's been 1 day since I did the mask and the pimple is completely gone. The reason I knew this was going to work was because saw immediate results once I rinsed the mask off. I'm hooked!
I totally recommend this to anyone who wants to have clearer skin or if you want something that is like a spot treatment. Please note: that if you are in any way allergic to aspirin, do not try this mask. This will give you the same allergic reaction as if you were ingesting it.
Do you have any homemade remedies that you use? Or are there some oldie remedies your mom or grandma told you and you swear by still? Let me know I am always up for hearing about new things people are doing.

Fresh 'Black Tea Instant Perfecting' Mask Review
After reading what it was suppose to do to your skin, I was hooked. I rushed to take off my makeup, went in and washed my face with my +Clarisonic just so my face would be exfoliated completely and the mask can be absorbed completely. I didn't do anything else from my night time skincare routine and went straight to the mask. I opened it up and like I said, it has a lotion feel and texture. The smell isn't my favorite but its not that serious to say that I wouldn't use it ever again. The minute you put it on your skin, you feel a cooling sensation and right away I knew that this was working! You are suppose to leave it on for about 10 minutes, I left it on for 15 or 20 minutes because I am a rebel like that. Since its a lotion type mask, when you go to take it off, its very slimy so I used a washcloth to remove it with luke warm water and my skin still felt cool. My skin was definitely softer and felt smoother and hydrated. Not sure about the wrinkles since I only used it once but I am definitely buying the larger size of this mask. Only downside is that this mask retails for $88 so I am not sure if I will buy it in the next few weeks. I really think thats a bit much for a mask but I will go and see if I can snag more samples from Sephora until I buy it because its really good.
Do you have a facial mask that you love? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to try them out!
