A couple of weeks back I went on a Dr. Brandt spending spree because I began with a few products, loved them and decided that I needed to try more. I originally fell in love with the Collagen Booster face serum and raved about it a couple of weeks back. I go on and off with using this since I have so many different other night creams that I need to use but every time I use this one it does wonders for my face. I wake up with a different face I feel. My face is radiant and its just amazing. I was so fond of this face serum that I decided to buy the dark circles under eye cream. This eye cream is said to brighten and diminish the look of tired, puffy and hollow eyes. It has Lumisphere microencapsulated pigments that instantly give you brighter and more luminous looking eyes. The serum is pigmented so it does give you minimal coverage and it will eventually fade your dark circles while breaking down fatty deposits that actually cause bags. Collagen in this eye cream also helps plump the skin which if you notice its very thin and feels different than the rest of your skin. This is why you need to take care of your eyes more because its very sensitive.
I used this cream for about a month straight without using anything else. I have couple of things I want to say. One thing is that when you look at the description of this product it is suppose to diminish tired looking eyes which makes you think this should be put on in the morning under makeup. That is a bold face lie! You cannot use this under makeup because it has sort of a sticky glue-ish consistency. I know its weird that I have to describe it like that but is kind if clumps up the same way glue would if you either rub it in your skin too much or don't rub it in enough to where it creates sort of like a layer under your eyes. It has a metal rollerball applicator which is awesome because it massages your under eyes and the coolness helps debuff your bags but the actual serum is crap. Since I can only use it at night time I realize that it doesn't work as good as other under eye creams that I have. I was really disappointed with this product because it wasn't cheap. This retails for $55 and I would never recommend this product at all.
Do you have products that you are 100% sure that they are just crap? Comment below I always want to hear about products that are a must stay away from!!
The other day I spoke about my weekend with my biffie +Valerie Suarez and how we stopped in TJ Maxx and I went overboard and bought almost every mask possible. I went in and bought everything and since I had so many, I wasn't able to blog about them in one blog so this is the second portion. In this post I wanted to dedicate it to all the eye masks that I bought.

The first one is I got was Earth Therapeutics Hydrogel Under-Eye Recovery Patch. This is for when you have tired and puffy looking eyes you can just put these on and they will help your eyes depuff and not look tired anymore. This has a couple of active ingredients like green tea and this contains organic anti-oxidants that help protect the skin from aging. This also has anti-oxidant vitamin complex and this is vitamins a, c, and e and this smooths, protects, and conditions. Other ingredients are aloe vera, cucumber and chamomile. All of these are soothing, hydrates, help with puffiness and swelling and then the chamomile relieves and naturally comforts. These are different because these aren't wet with liquid as most other ones that I've tried are like. They are completely dry and have all the goodness in a gel form. I put these on my eyes and after a half hour, I can see a difference. I usually leave these on while I do my eye makeup just to catch any fall out while depuffing my eyes.
The next one I have is the Spa Life Wake Up Under Eye Revitalizer. These are different than the ones prior because these are soaking wet. They come all in a ziplock baggie and you can see the liquid that is saturating them. I keep these in the refrigerator by the way. These particular ones have espresso and vitamin E which hydrates and perks up the eyes. The caffeine from the espresso will perk up your eyes and help your eyes not look tired. I usually put these on in the morning before I am ready to get out of bed. I leave them on for about 30 minutes. They smell just like coffee, thats the only thing that I would want to point out. They do work because my eyes look more rested than usual when I used these.

The next eye mask I bought was Spa Life Radiant Under Eye Treatment. This one was a definite "judge a book by its cover" type of buy. I saw that these had diamonds in it. I immediately said-- yup I need diamonds for my eyes. These are said to rejuvenate and brighten under eye skin. These little beauties have collagen in it so your eyes will look younger, firmer and more radiant. The diamonds will brighten the skin so after 20 minutes your eyes will look well rested and also brighter. I use these usually at night and I do not put these in the refrigerator. I lay in bed while listening to the TV or watching it since with these you can keep your eyes open, like all the other ones too. I do not use these all the time, I use these as more of a treat once every 2 weeks while rotating the other ones in more frequent.
The last eye masks that I got were the Cucumber Hydro-Soothing Cooling Eye pads. These look like little cucumber slices. They are saturated with real cucumber extract. This is good for your eyes in that cucumbers are known for soothing the skin. This will relieve the puffiness and will also help soothe and hydrate your under eyes. These are ones that need to be put on your whole eye so I personally like to put these on when I am taking a bath and I am able to close my eyes for a bit. These smell amazing and I put them in the refrigerator so that they are even cooler than normal and it give you a great "ahhh" moment. I like doing this after a long day at work.
Well these are all the ones I bought that weekend that I went out with my bestie. I know I completely went overboard but I love these things and honestly for the prices that they have them in TJ Maxx, why not.
I've been reading a lot of different Korean secrets that are finally making it over to the US. I guess I just figured things that are popular in Korea would be amazing because I've really never seen a Korean with horrible skin or anything like that. I also really like Korean products because culturally, they are big on skin care. They think its very important. Here in the US, skincare isn't as important culturally as lets say weight. I think weight has more importance here in the US. Either way, I am always excited to try things of other cultures. I saw this online once when I was reading an article from +Refinery29 and I was like 'hells yea, I need that'. Once I saw that they had it in +Urban Outfitters I was beyond excited. I immediately grabbed it and told my biffie +Valerie Suarez that she needed to get it as well. Obviously, she knows how much I know about these things so she followed suit.

That night I read the instructions and basically 95% of the packaging is in Korean, I do not know Korean. From the reviews I've read online, this product is suppose to give you immediately brightening effects but if you use it long enough it can over time give you permanent results. The cream is a bit thick but all you have to do is put a couple of dots on under your eyes and then blot into your skin until its absorbed. I've used mine for at least a week already and I use it day and night. So basically what I do is put a little bit on my finger and then blot it into my skin. I usually out more on at night so that the whitening effects happen over night when your skin is rejuvenating and regenerating the cells. I honestly noticed a different hte next morning. I was already excited about this product so I washed my face in the morning and then put my regular eye cream on which is the Loreal Eye Defense and then I let that absorbed and then added the cream. I use less in the morning because I then put concealer on along with my makeup. Its plain and simple and honestly I see it working. Like I said, it worked immediately and it doesn't feel greasy on your skin. I even started putting them on my dark spots at night.
This retails for $12 and I bought mine at Urban Outfitters. For those of you that do not have an Urban Outfitters close, you can order it online from their website. Let me know if you've used this before or if you use anything else that helps the dark circles.
Well it's no surprise that I am a beauty freak and I love everything beauty related. One thing not sure if you've heard about are these monthly subscription boxes. They come in all different varieties some of the popular ones are BirchBox, Ipsy and if you are into nails, Julep and Cult. These range from $10-$30 and you usually get any where from 4-5 samples sometimes full size products as well. I am subscribed to the Ipsy monthly box. I love being able to get sample sizes and sometimes deluxe sample sizes of new products that I haven't used before.
This month's Ipsy bag was destination inspired, I'm guessing because a lot of people get their Spring Break time so that probably what inspired this month's bag. What I received in this bag was a Pixi Beauty primer, which has shimmer in it and is a bit oily for my skin, so I am not a huge fan. I also received the Be A Bombshell quad eye shadow, this also the colors are a bit off so not sure I love it yet, maybe for the summer but definitely not now. I got a Nicole by OPI textured nail polish which I haven't worn yet but its a pretty teal Tiffany's color. I got a Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick which is a blah color, sort of like a Mom color but I like how it feels on my lips so I use it once in a while.

One of the things I didn't get in my bag but I was able to trade someone with were the Klorane Soothing and Relaxing Patches for Tired-Eyes. I was reading the box and it says that you can put them in the fridge so I went ahead and did that because I figured it would be better for my eyes. I took a shower and before I went ahead and dried my hair, I put this on my eyes. Immediately, you feel the cooling sensation on your eyes and its nice. This doesn't feel like a bandage on your face so don't think that you are going to rip your eyes off or anything but they stick enough that you can do things while you have them on. I would suggest using them in the morning before a big event or something because at night kind of makes no sense. You're eyes do have a less tired look to them. But on the first application, there isn't a drastic change or anything but I like the way it feels on your eyes so I would definitely be purchasing. These retail for around $15, which isn't really cheap but you can get them in your local drugstore such as Duane Reade since the one near me has luxury brands.
